Here at Berwick Chase Primary School, we offer a range of extracurricular activities. These activities compliment the broad and well-rounded educational experiences students participate in. As our community grows, so too will the range of activities offered out students. Currently, we provide;
Active After School Communities (AASC)
This sports program provides opportunities for students to participate in quality, safe, fun, inclusive and structured physical activities. It gives children an opportunity to participate in a wide variety of sports. There is no cost for these sessions, they are facilitated by qualified coaches, and supervised by teaching staff.
Kelly sports aim is to enhance children’s physical education and wellbeing by providing expert coaching over a wide range of sports. As this program is organised by an external provider, there is a small cost to participants.
Berwick Chase offers a variety of experiences across the year that complements our approach to individualised learning. All excursions are in context and relevant to what’s happening in the classroom, as well as the interests of our students.
When children are in the senior school (grades 3-6), they are encouraged to attend the annual school camp. Some are also lucky enough to attend Somers Camp, which is offered to a small number of students from each school in our network biannually.
Under instruction from a qualified dance instructor, Footsteps Dance Company allows students with the opportunity to improve their rhythm and co-ordination through movement.This program culminates into a night time disco, where are great time is had by all.
Berwick Chase Primary School provides great opportunities for children in grades 3-6 to participate in an electives program. Children are able to choose to participate in a wide range of interest based activities such as running the school’s café, photography, science, golf, netball, knitting, choir and cooking. Community members are invited to share a skill or interest by leading an elective activity.
Every recess and lunch time, any student is able and welcome to enter our Explore Garden. Students can participate in games and activities such as Lego, craft, board games, drawing, as well as using the area to have a relaxing break with friends. These activities are supervised by a teacher and designed to encourage communication, socialisation and interaction amongst peers.
DC Tennis program
At BCPS, we offer the DC Tennis program that provides a fun, engaging environment for teaching tennis skills aimed at the level of the students. The program is offered each term, please see www.dctennis.com.au for more information
