Berwick Chase Primary School was recently asked to nominate one Year 6 student for the Fred Hollows Humanity Award. This award recognises students who follow in Fred’s footsteps by making a positive difference in their community. It celebrates students who show compassion, integrity and kindness in their everyday lives, just as Fred did.
Staff at Berwick Chase deemed Chloe from 6A to be the worthy recipient.
As a new student to our school this year, Chloe has integrated herself admirably into our community through her positivity and kindness that is beyond her years. She shares only beautiful comments about her peers and reminds others to do the same if she hears of any negativity. In addition to her unbelievable consideration of others, Chloe shows incredible compassion towards others, caring greatly about their feelings and needs. She regularly offers to include students who look left out and speaks to teachers about her concerns for peers’ wellbeing. Chloe deserves recognition for the amazing person and leader she already is.
Well done, Chloe!
Chloe travelled into the city with her mum and sister last Thursday to receive her award in a special award ceremony.
She then shared this with the whole school at assembly on Friday.
