At the recent match of Richmond v West Coast at the MCG, Emma Martin from 3-4F stood up in front of a crowd of 43,000+ and spoke about the issue of violence against children. She encouraged people to donate to this worthy cause.
Emma was selected from her dance school to represent the Foundation. She spoke beautifully into a microphone that amplified her voice all around the stadium for so many people to hear. As one of her teachers, I was exceptionally proud.
So what is The Alannah and Madeline Foundation? It’s a national charity protecting children from violence and its devastating impact.
The Foundation was set up in memory of Alannah and Madeline Mikac, aged six and three, who were tragically killed with their mother and 32 others at Port Arthur, Tasmania on 28 April 1996.
The vision of this Foundation is that every child will live in a safe and supportive environment.
Well done Emma for speaking up about such an important issue!
